Passionate about driving success through clear, accurate communication, Jessica Swenson is a collaborative, detail-oriented technical writer, résumé writer, and proofreader. She was once described by a peer as inquisitive and fearless in the pursuit of information and has embraced that descriptor whenever possible during the evolution of her career.

With a background of serving retail field teams as a deployment manager, visual communications specialist, and technical document specialist, Jessica has extensive experience collecting complex information from subject matter experts and organizing it into streamlined, intuitive documentation. She is passionate about proactively answering clients’ and users’ questions through intentional and accurate communications.

Over time she ascended into project and program management roles overseeing complex projects and managing client relationships for startup design agencies. She flourished in this space by using strong interpersonal skills to cultivate and grow client engagements while keeping partners informed and projects on task.

Woven into every role she’s ever held is a love for the written word and frequent use of her proofreading and editing skills. Jessica has authored client pitch decks and global merchandising playbooks, contributed to comprehensive brand guideline documents, and has been called upon to review countless emails, documents, graphics, engineering documents, and more.

In 2021 Jessica pivoted to join an executive branding firm as a résumé writer. In just over two years she was leading a team of six other writers and contributing weekly to company problem-solving andprocess improvement initiatives. In this role she fell back into love with writing as a profession, and she now seeks to diversify her portfolio through content development, blogging, copywriting, and proofreading. She would also like to use her powers for good as a grant writer.

Jessica earned an MBA from Western Governors University, a BA in Psychology from Argosy University, and a Certificate in Copyediting from University of California San Diego. She graduated in the top 11% of Proofread Anywhere’s General Proofreading program and is currently enrolled in a self-guided copywriting program through the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy. Jessica is a volunteer proofreader for a science and futurism YouTube channel with nearly 800,000 subscribers, and has served for 8 years as a board member for a trauma-informed therapy and healing nonprofit based in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Mrs. Swenson lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana with her husband, two cats, and a dog. She hopes to someday actually complete The Artist’s Way.
